How do I reheat boiled peanuts?
You purchased some of our cold packaged boiled peanuts and you’re not sure what to do next…
Well, you can eat them cold! That is certainly an acceptable way to enjoy boiled peanuts, and there are some boiled peanut connoisseurs out there who prefer them this way. But if you’d like to have yours warm, it’s easy to reheat them by using a microwave or stovetop.
Microwave Instructions:
Pour the boiled peanuts and broth into a microwave safe bowl (we recommend glass).
Microwave the boiled peanuts for 2-3 minutes, stir and check the temperature. If you want them to be hotter, microwave in increments of 30 seconds until they reach your desired temperature. Avoid over-cooking the boiled peanuts, they may become mushy if they are microwaved for too long. Consider reducing the power of your microwave to 80% while reheating.
Stovetop Instructions:
Pour the boiled peanuts and broth into a pot, make sure there is a couple of inches of space above the line of the boiled peanuts to the top of the pot. This will prevent spillage while cooking.
Reheat the boiled peanuts in the pot on medium heat until they are simmering (not boiling). Avoid reheating on a hard boil, the peanuts might become too mushy if overcooked.
You can leave the stovetop on a low setting if you plan to eat the boiled peanuts over a longer span of time (like at a party or gathering). You can also transfer them to a crockpot on a low setting to serve them warm.
Other Tips:
Make sure to reheat the boiled peanuts in the broth! This will help keep the boiled peanuts from drying out and will help retain the flavor. If the broth doesn’t cover most of the boiled peanuts in the cooking vessel, use a smaller vessel or add a bit of water.
If the broth has become concentrated and tastes too spicy or too salty, you can add some water while reheating to subdue the flavor to your preference.
